Wraparound Hardwood Dock & Boat Lift

Intracoastal Waterway, Palm Beach County

A newly completed modern residence deserved a dock designed to the same standard as the architecture behind it. The owners wanted the waterfront to read as a continuation of the home: clean lines, warm hardwood decking against pale stone, and a lift positioned so the boat never interrupts the view down the waterway.

The challenge

The dock had to trace the full run of the seawall and turn the corner without a visual break, keeping deck lines level and consistent across the entire run. Every piling below that clean surface had to find secure footing in the bottom conditions of the site, and carry the structure through tropical-storm winds, not just calm weekends.

Our solution

We treat the foundation as the structure. Pilings were set with the method suited to the bottom conditions at each point along the run. Our crews work with high-pressure water jets, pneumatic pile driving, and rock drilling as the site demands, so the finished dock stands on uniformly solid footing. The hardwood deck was then fitted with tight, consistent detailing, and the boat lift was integrated into the dock’s geometry rather than bolted alongside it.

The result is a working waterfront that photographs like part of the landscape: boat secured above the waterline, deck flush and unbroken, and the view intact.
